Stage Art and Storytelling as a Tool for Communication and Integration
Starting in 2018, Story Sharing Universum has formed a network around integration through theatre and storytelling. The network aims at promoting interaction, exchange of experience and knowledge between groups and organisations that work with integration, cultural diversity and communal art through stage art and storytelling. The member groups come from the Baltic region. The seminar starts on Friday evening 17th May 2019 with a Story Sharing Café event, and continues on Saturday 18th with a symposium consisting of short presentations by the symposium participants about their work and methods. Saturday ends with a panel discussion about the roles, needs and possibilities of integrational work through stage art and storytelling, moderated by Outi Lahtinen from the Universum Theatre.
Presenters are: Bigger Heart (Finland), Cirkus Sibylla and Sibylla Theatre (Norway), Culture Hub Interkult (Finland), Dance-Up ReFugees (Finland), Fabula Storytelling (Sweden), Saaga Multicultural Centre (Finland), Skelleftebygdens berättarförening (Sweden), Story Sharing Universum (Finland), Storytelling Arena (Germany), Telling Communities (Lithuania), UPOLERT (Norway).
